IS THE WORD OF GOD YOUR AUTHORITY?
NOT SAVED BY KEEPING THE LAW
Rom 10:4 For Christ is the end of the
law for righteousness to every one that
believeth.
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified
[saved] in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Gal 3:23-25 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the
faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Wherefore the law was our
schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25
But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Heb 8:10,13 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write
them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a
people:...In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that
which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
GREATEST COMMANDMENT
Mt 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the
law [THERE IS ONLY ONE
LAW]? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great
commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
What does “all the law” mean? It means all that God had given: it means the 10
Commandments and all the rest.
BIBLE SALVATION IS BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST,
NOT BY WHAT YOU DO OR DON’T DO.
IS YOUR FAITH REALLY IN THE
BIBLE?
People who follow latter-day prophets are led to think that their faith
comes from believing the Bible. Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA), Mormons,
Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Muslims are all told the same story by their
leaders. If what they are told were true, then the truths given in the
verses on the front page would have the same meaning to all of them. The
truth is that none of them believe what these verses are really saying. Why?
Because the Bible is not their authority, but rather the teachings of their
“divine leaders” are. What SDA leaders teach about salvation comes from
Hiram Edson’s 1844 vision which resulted in their doctrine of Investigative
Judgment. If you were to read Joseph Bates 48-page tract written in 1846 on
the Sabbath, you would have in essence what is being taught by SDA leaders
today. You must first believe that these men or women have “divine
authority”; next, you must believe that what they have written (the
extra-biblical revelations) has come from God. Since the Bible indicates
that God’s Word has been completed and that only false prophets and teachers
would come as angels of light to give “new truth,” that should be enough
warning for a prudent person to understand.
Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves. See also: 2 Cor 11:13-15 & Jude 3.
